Some of the meanest, most manly, Testosterone driven beards out there today are hiding a big dark secret; They have beard dandruff. The best way to clear those flaky skin cells away from the hair follicles you call your beard is to to exfoliate your face with a facial exfoliant (We are selling this). Either way, your beard works great at making you look like a legendary Bad-Ass, picking up chicks, and blocking out the sun. However, my Viking God, it is missing something you used to do every day; wash it. Which leads to our next section.

Can you Exfoliate your Face?

Simple answer to that question is: Yes. You can exfoliate your face. Additionally, you should. Dirt, grime, and dead flaky skin, oh my! Yep! I went there. With that said, you most definitely need to be exfoliating your beard with a with the exfoliating face scrub. Another reason you should be doing this is to the reason I started to, if you exfoliate your beard area once a week to remove the dead cells on the face it will help to stimulate the growth of new hair.

How do you Properly Exfoliate your Face?

  1. Start by wetting your face with warm (not hot) water

  2. Apply, face exfoliating scrub to the areas around your face which are problem areas for you. And anywhere where there is not a beard.

  3. Scrub, scrub, scrub, in a circular motion. Working in that area for no more than 15 seconds.

  4. Rinse off your face. Pat dry with a towel.

  5. Apply Beard oil to your skin.

How often should you exfoliate your Face?

The question: Is exfoliating every day bad for your skin? Dermatologist will definitely answer: Yes. However, why is that? Simply put, YOU ARE SCRATCHING YOUR FACE OFF! And, I hear that can hurt. So best to stick to what the “Skin Doctor” says. If your face is looking rash-y, blotchy or extremely inflamed. Just like Annette said in “Mr. Mom”, You’re doing it wrong.

So, how often should you be doing this regimen of slowly shredding your face off? Well for most of us manly men, no more than three times a week. For the more sensitive men (Your secret is safe with me) only once per week. However, if anyone asks you exfoliate more than that. Deny, Deny, Deny!

Our beard scrub will help you exfoliate your face without the harsh chemicals.

What home remedies can I use to exfoliate my face?

I wanted to include a home remedy for those who do not want to buy or were allergic to the ingredients in exfoliating scrubs. There are many different versions and some you can even put in your morning coffee. However, I wouldn’t put in your coffee after you have used it. This one is a Honey Sugar scrub:

Exfoliating Beard Scrub

  • 1 cup jojoba oil

  • 1 1/2 cups brown granulated sugar

  • 1/4 cup raw Manuka honey

  • A few drops of essential oil for scent. (The type used in soap making.)

  • 3 cups oatmeal
